" Hockey is probably the biggest thing I miss about my life at Muckross. It was a huge part of my 6 years and it allowed me to make lifelong friendships with people from different years, above and below me. There was always a great atmosphere in the school leading up to important match days which included planning our face paint, finding our old boiler suits and brushing up on the famous Muckross chants. I was lucky enough to reach several finals in Three Rock and it was an incredible feeling knowing the whole school was cheering you on. " 💚
" I loved every single minute of my time in Muckross. My favourite memories would have to be the relationships I developed with my teachers, and of course, my classmates who are still some of my closest friends."
" I look at my two older sisters and they still have a very tight knit group of friends from Muckross almost 10 years after graduating."
" I always loved taking part in the musicals, my year performed Hairspray in 4th year with Marian College and Oklahoma in 5th year with Gonzaga College. Participating in these musicals allowed me to make new friends with people in my year and gave us all something to look forward to on a weekly basis. "
Fun fact: "My granny went to Muckross too!"
" I have just finished my final year of Equine Business at Maynooth University. I have always been passionate about the equine industry - in particular the thoroughbred racing industry so when it came to finalising my CAO in 6th year, I decided I wanted to turn my passion into my career. This degree has allowed me to travel the world doing what I love in places like America, Australia and New Zealand."
Advice for your 18 year old self:
" Do what you are passionate about. Once you leave school you have the power and responsibility to map the next stage of your life. Do not make decisions to keep other people happy, do what excites you. I have always lived by the saying “the expert in everything was once a beginner”, and I would tell my 18-year-old self the same thing. "
